not much modding potential right? sad i guess i wont be getting an of the newer blasters i dont have that kinda money to spend on blaster i wont mod )=
ReplyDeleteThink its possible to fit two Big salvo tanks in there?
ReplyDeleteVersatileChicken,
ReplyDeleteWell, i've already modded my Barrel Break with the usual AR Removals and aftermarket spring replacements.
Although the Barrel Break's plungers are smaller and springs are shorter than the Recon, my initial modded results so far seem to be on par with similiarly modded Recons, so i guess the internal parts size differences didn't translate to as much of a power difference as expected.
The effectiveness of a Barrel Break is mainly in its 2 shot feature, so i guess it could be a useful sidearm in that aspect.
MindWArrior,
ReplyDeleteI guess it could be possible, there is quite a fair bit of space in the plunger chambers.
Though if its going to be converted into an air-tank powered blaster to do the same thing... imho, might as well use the original air-tank blaster instead. :)
Looking at the internals, it seems that the Barrel Break would have the power equivalent of a Nerf Maverick.
ReplyDeleteFrom experience of firing this blaster , the right barrel seems to have less power than the left. Is this just me?
ReplyDeleteS3 Labour,
ReplyDeleteBoth barrels should have the same power and range.
If you find that one of the barrels seems to have less power than the other, then its simply a faulty unit and should be quickly exchanged at the store for a new working unit.
Out of curiosity which aftermarket springs did you use? Or what specs are they if I have to have them made. (if you haven't guessed it, I am in the States).
ReplyDeleteHitokirikai,
ReplyDeleteThe customised aftermarket springs i use are usually similar in overall dimensions to stock springs (so they can fit properly), but with thicker spring wires and higher spring loads.
If you want to custom make aftermarket springs, simply bring along the stock springs and plungers to the spring manufacturing companies, so that you can do proper comparisons and test fittings.
Is it possible to remove the air restrictor without destroying the dart peg?
ReplyDeleteshingelz,
ReplyDeleteDoesn't seem possible, but you can try to see if you can somehow cut or drill out the AR while still keeping the dart post intact.
Do update us if you manage to do it.
Could you post a mod guide?
ReplyDeleteOscar,
ReplyDeleteNope, i'm not planning to post a Mod Guide on the Nerf Barrel Break.
The Barrel Break isn't a half bad weapon if you remove the ARs. Even without SG Nerf's legendary Mod Guides, it's pretty easy to do yourself.
ReplyDeleteWhen you open up the Barrel Break, the left plunger asssembly is right there. You can easily just take it out and drill out the AR. To get the right plunger, you simply remove an orange panel that separates the two plungers components. Then you drill out that one and put it all back together. The range improvement on the Barrel Break after this is considerably noticable!
Do anyone knows what is the price of NERF BARREL BREAK(in malaysian ringgit) and where can i get this cool gun in malaysia(sarawak)??? :)
ReplyDeleteCuz i really LOVE this gun <3 !!!
I have tried to mod this gun, it is the easiest mod besides the most basic pistols!
ReplyDeleteI found how to remove the AR without removing the post. On accident.
ReplyDeleteBasically, all you have to do is drill until you notice a sudden large discharge of particularly fluffy orange plastic shavings out of the plunger end (drilling from the plunger end). Remove the drill bit and you'll see that you stopped drilling just before taking out the post.
cool
ReplyDeleteAlso, is it possible to achieve a "rifled" spiral effect by twisting the dart post? I tried this in one of the barrels, but the darts move too fast for me to see if this has any effect.
ReplyDeleteredfish,
ReplyDeleteWell, the foam darts are not really designed to spin in flight, the foam material is basically too soft and inconsistent to be able to achieve the desired effect efficiently.
