  1. I want to build a a custom breech for my Recon, but i don't have brass. are there any other materials i can use?

      Well, i only know of K&S brand brass tubes which are able to nest within each other precisely to create a 100% air seal... so far i've not found any other materials that can substitute it yet.

      I guess you'll just have to shop around and test various other materials to see if they can match that characteristic.

  2. is it better to use a long spring or a short spring in a powerstock?

      You should use a spring which match the priming draw length, just measure the distance of the priming grip movement, then get a spring which can match that distance during compression.

      If the spring is too short it wouldn't be efficient, too long and it may jam up... it has to match the plunger draw.
