Just out of curiosity, are the locking systems the same as the Rampage/Retaliator's Raider/Recon counterparts?

DeleteQuite possibly, the Elite blaster models are designed to supersede the older versions eventually.
I guess your right because who would want to buy a blaster that has been upgraded for the same price as the regular one in places like range,clip size,looks,etc.this also explains the clearances in the Nerf sections. well to bad I liked the original n strike paint job a lot though.

Inner diameter (ID) = 2.5cm
Plunger draw = 6.0cm
Total effective air volume = 29.46 cubic cm

DeleteYou can try getting the small springs from auto-retractable ballpoint pens and test, those can usually fit too.

DeleteStronger springs increase the stress load on the blaster parts, so they will naturally wear out faster.
When or how they fail or break depends on your usage... and luck.
As a modder, you have to accept this when modding your blasters. As i mention at the beginning of my mod guides... "mod at your own risk!".
If any parts break, just be prepared to repair it or buy a new unit.
So that means:
Delete1. Unmodified blasters can wear out, but slower than the modified one.
2. The blaster is designed to hold the original spring's stress.

do you have any tips or links to a more permanent jam fix? This thing jams constantly on me. Either a dart gets jammed in the tooth and locked or it will load 2 darts in the breach if not primed steadily and deliberately. Is my experience typical or did i get a bad model (I bought the first unit to show up at my local TRU)? Thanks

DeleteIf you pull the priming handle back and push it forward completely during the priming action, and you are using foam darts that are in good condition (not worn out or damaged), then there should not be any jams at all.
The main cause for jams are usually due wrong priming technique, damaged foam darts, or perhaps damaged parts in the blaster. Faulty clips or drum magazines are also one of the causes of jams too, as the foam darts may get stuck and not feed properly.
Just check everything and see if you can find the issue to solve it. If the problem persists, then most likely you have a really faulty unit, then its easier to just get another new working set instead.
What is the o-ring made of and what type of lubricants I should use? I found that old blasters need to be regreased. And can we make the new Rampage shoot farther if we put more grease to the o-ring?

DeleteThe o-ring is made of rubber, so you should use lubricants that are safe for rubber (and safe for plastic too as the plunger casing is made of plastic).
Note that some lubricants that are advertised as safe for rubber might still end up causing damage to the o-rings or make them out-of-shape them over time, so you have to test to find out.
For my blaster mods, i use Super-Lube Synthetic Grease, here is the info link to it:

So far, Super-Lube Synthetic Grease has worked well in all my blaster mods as it has the right viscosity and properties to create a good seal yet still allowing for smooth plunger movement.
A good layer of suitable grease can help enhance the plunger seal and result in improved ranges... but too much grease can also sometimes create extra resistance or blockages, so its best to just moderate the amount applied.
olive oil is not bad, actually. we vintage-car-modifiers use it on old doorstraps and stuff, and it works quite well even in the fuel system.

DeleteIt should be possible, you'll just have to mod the casing internals to fit and position the transplanted parts.

Some of the transplant steps could be similar, so you can get some ideas from there.

I believe you are referring to "Orange Mod Works" in the USA which started in 2011, they use a similar name... but we are NOT the same.

I just painted the shell of my Raider. Do you know if the new Rampage parts will fit in a Raider shell because I'd like to not have to paint a new one just to get better ranges.

DeleteThe parts fit and mounts are different... but it's probably possible to do some modding to convert them to fit. You'll just have to open them up to compare and mod.

DeleteIts possible, but you'll need to do a fair bit of cutting and modifying of the casing and parts to get everything fitted and working properly... seems like alot of unnecessary work though, easier to just use the Rampage as is.
Sg Nerf, I modded my rampage with a 5kg spring from OrangeMod and remove the AR. Now i notice that about 25% of the time, my gun will fire like slam fire , but the trigger is not pressed. Any help will be appreciated.

DeleteMost likely the catch and catch plate in your blaster might be worn out or the catch spring is somehow too light, so it doesn't catch securely. You'll need to either change/modify the catch and catch plate or install a stronger catch spring.
Great, thanks for the advice. The gun is fairly new and should not be worn out yet. My first thought was the catch plate and spring since i seen a friend with a retaliator which came with the plate and spring in the mod kit. Thanks

No idea why he didn't come to me but it what kids do :( And now the whole mechanism has fell apart and going off your pictures I still cant get it to work as i cant see where the last little white plastic thing goes and another little spring.. Any help? thanks..

DeleteIf used properly with good quality foam darts, both blasters don't have jamming issues.
Jams only occur when the loading mechanism is faulty, or the priming action is too quick/not complete, or the foam darts used are damaged or worn out.
Does anyone know if the OrangeModWorks kits for the raider will work with the rampage?

DeleteThe Rampage and Raider internal design and plunger mechanism are different, so the parts are not interchangeable.
Please help us with a mystery part. Small solid square with a checkerboard design and small spring attached. Based on pics we cannot find where it goes.
